What is it?

30 November charge on my bank statement - Int'l 0090107552 THE WYRD SCHOOL LOUGHREA EUR 5.00@1.1792 Visa rate £4.24, plus transaction fee of £0.11.

Although not a significant amount, it was not a known or recognised transaction. I assumed some form of charity contribution, but we do not remember any similar transaction.

The query is how was this possible and could it be repeated in the future?

I believe this is a subscription charge to The Abbey of Misrule substack from Paul Kingsnorth, who is affiliated with the Wyrd School https://wyrdschool.ie/. I unsubscribed but was charged nevertheless and am trying to reverse the charge.
